A joint cooperation agreement between the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) - Arab Army and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Jordan was signed on Wednesday at JAF General Headquarters, in the presence of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Hunaiti.

The agreement, signed by JAF representative, Assistant for Planning, Organization, and Defense Resources, and the Dutch Ambassador to Jordan, Harry Verweij, aims to strengthen joint cooperation and exchange of expertise in military fields between the two countries.

The agreement is part of JAF’s efforts to consolidate relations and cooperation frameworks, exchange knowledge and technology with advanced armies, in addition to enhancing joint programs and exercises.

The agreement was attended by the Dutch Military Attaché in Amman and a number of senior JAF officers, Petra news agency reported.

Meanwhile, Major General Yousef Hunaiti also visited the Central Military Zone Command on Wednesday as part of ongoing efforts to assess operational readiness and enhance military capabilities to address evolving challenges.

During the visit, Major General Hunaiti reviewed the training, logistics, and operational preparedness of units in the region. He emphasized the importance of continuous training and development to ensure the operational readiness of the Jordan Armed Forces in all circumstances.

While visiting the Royal Air Defense Battalion 73, Hunaiti was briefed on the Battalion’s responsibilities, operational activities, and logistical capabilities.

He also inspected the latest equipment and weaponry used by the battalion, reiterating the Jordanian Armed Forces’ commitment to modernizing its air defense systems to strengthen the nation’s defense posture and maintain high levels of efficiency.

Hunaiti, accompanied by senior military officers, met with personnel from the battalion, extending the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, and HRH Crown Prince Hussein.

He praised the efforts of the air defense personnel in protecting Jordan’s airspace and contributing to national security and stability.
