Bahrain’s King Receives Saudi Defense Minister

Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa received Monday Saudi Defense Minister Prince Mohammad bin Salman, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. Upon arrival, Prince Mohammed and his delegation were greeted by the Bahraini King as well as Prince Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa, the crown prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

During the visit, they discussed the relations between their countries as well as regional and international developments, particularly the situation unfolding in Yemen and the military and humanitarian aspects of the Operation Decisive Storm.

The two sides lauded Bahrain's participation in Operation Decisive Storm, stressing its constant success on the military level, while taking the humanitarian aspect into consideration. They also underlined efforts to protect civilians, secure humanitarian relief-aid, and evacuate foreign communities in cooperation with relevant international organizations, said Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

They also asserted that the Operation Decisive Storm was launched with the aim of restoring stability and development to Yemen and supporting its legitimate leadership and Government towards engaging into a national inclusive dialogue.

The Bahraini King held a banquet in honor of Prince Mohammad and sent his greetings to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

For his part, Prince Mohammad thanked the king for the hospitality and conveyed the greetings of Saudi King Salman.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces met in Riyadh Sunday evening with Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior and discussed with him ways to enhance fraternal ties in all fields, reported UAE’s News Agency WAM.

In attendance were Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy National Security Advisor, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority (EAA), Lt. General Juma Ahmed Al Bowardi, Advisor to the Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Mohammed Saeed Mohammed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and a number of officials.

From the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense, President of the Royal Court and Special Advisor to the Saudi King, Dr. Musa'id bin Mohammed Al Abyan, Minister of State and Cabinet Member and Dr. Sa'ad Al Jabri, Minister of State and Cabinet Minister.
