The Egyptian Naval and Marines’ forces participated in the joint international maritime training (IMX/CE23), which lasted for three weeks in Bahrain and Jordan.

Approximately 7,000 personnel, 35 naval vessels, and 30 unmanned surface vessel from 50 different countries, including the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain and United Arab Emirates participated in the training, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The training aims to exchange operational expertise in the field of maritime security, find international solutions to maintain flow of navigation and international trade, support military relations within the participating countries, support regional stability efforts in the region against any threats, and build harmony within the participating countries to protect international laws and regulations.

The training included the right to Visit, board, search, and seizure of suspected vessels (VBSS), and training on unmanned surface vessel system. Further, Egypt took over the Maritime Command and Control Center in Bahrain during the implementation of the training.

The training comes as an affirmation of the strategic partnership and support for the extended military relations between the Egyptian Armed Forces and their counterparts from brotherly and friendly countries.
