Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief-of-Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, met in Rabat, Morocco with General Abdel Fattah Warraq, Inspector General of the Kingdom of Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces, during his visit to the Kingdom.

The duo discussed ways of furthering ties and cooperation between the UAE and Morocco, in the military and defense spheres in particular, UAE national news WAM reported.

They also exchanged views about other matters of common concern.

Earlier this week, Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi joined other Commanders from members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC, and the United States at a seminar held as part of Eagle Resolve 2017, one of the region’s largest joint military exercises.

The Senior Leader Seminar was held to discuss the security of the GCC region amidst regional challenges.

Kuwaiti Minister of Defense Sheikh Mohammed Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah delivered a speech in which he noted that the exercise promotes the exchange of expertise, co-ordination, and co-operation in crisis management in particular.

Eagle Resolve 2017 contributes towards upgrading the co-ordination between participating states to deter domestic and regional threats, he said, while noting that Kuwaiti ministries, institutions, and governmental agencies involved in crisis management and supporting security and military operations are also participating.

The UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the GCC's Peninsula Shield Forces are participating in the joint exercise.
