During the meeting, the Crown Prince expressed heartfelt happiness, wishing them all success.

The Meeting was attended by Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet, Chief of Crown Prince's Court and the Special Adviser to the Crown Prince; Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet; Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohiuddin Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information; Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister of Commerce and Industry; Dr. Nizar bin Obaid Madani, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; General Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al-Bunyan, Chief of General Staff; Dr. Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, Saudi Ambassador to France; and a number of officials.

Prince Salman held talks in Paris on Monday with President Francois Hollande on bilateral cooperation in various areas, including combating the rise of terrorism in the Middle East region.

Both leaders also discussed the multi-billion dollar package of French military equipment and arms for Lebanon's Army that Riyadh has agreed to finance, as Beirut faces the threat of jihadists on its border with Syria.

An aide to the President was quoted by AFP as saying that the two leaders were close to signing a $3 billion arms deal for Lebanon.

“It was not signed on Monday but it is being finalized,” the aide said.

Hollande told an official dinner at the Elysee that Lebanon was a “great but vulnerable country” which “needs security.”

“We have come together, Saudi Arabia and France, to help Lebanon on the condition that it also helps itself, for its own security,” Hollande added, without commenting directly on the joint contract.

Prince Salman also held talks on Tuesday with French Prime Minister Emmanuel Valls.  The Crown Prince and the French Prime Minister “discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in all fields, in addition to the latest developments in the Middle East.”

Prince Salman met Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius on Wednesday for talks over the situation in Iraq and Syria, where jihadists have seized swathes of territory and are terrorizing Christians and other minorities.
