Oman Hosts 21st Meeting of GCC Naval Forces

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), hosted Wednesday the 21st meeting of the GCC Naval Force.

The meeting was held at Al Shafaq Club of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) under the chairmanship of Rear Admiral Saif Nassir Al Rahbi, RNO Commander.

It discussed a set of topics listed on the agenda, including areas of military cooperation among GCC Naval Forces, Oman News Agency (ONA) said in brief statement.

In another development, Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) received at Al Murtafa’a Garrison Tuesday Rear Admiral Mauro Panebianco, Commander of Task Force of AGENOR.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a range of issues related to naval fields, as well as promoting joint cooperation.

The meeting was attended by the Military Attaché at the Italian Embassy in Muscat.

Furthermore, the Commander of Task Force of AGENOR and his military accompanying delegation visited the Maritime Security Centre (MSC) in Muscat.

Upon their arrival the Centre, the delegation was received by Commodore Adil Hamoud Al Busaidi, Head of the MSC.

Members of the delegation were briefed on the tactical roles and tasks carried out by the Centre in the safety of the Omani maritime environment. They also viewed its latest equipment and technologies used in carrying out its national duties.
