Jordanian King Receives Singapore’s Defense Minister

King Abdullah II of Jordan discussed with Singapore’s Minister for Defense Ng Eng Hen, means to boost cooperation between Jordan and Singapore, mainly in the military fields as well as the latest developments in the region.

According to Jordan News Agency Petra, King Abdullah and Singaporean Minister stressed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to fight terrorism. The Jordanian King also warned against Islamophobia which help extremists use such fears to feed their terrorist agendas.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of Jordan, Lt. General Mahmoud Abdul Halim Freihat, received Deputy Chief-of-Staff of NATO’s Military Partnerships Directorate, Major General Odd Egil Pedersen and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting the army chief discussed with the NATO official the current situation in the region as well as issues of common interest, Petra reported.

Lt. General Mahmoud Freihat also welcomed on Sunday a Lebanese military delegation led by Commander of Lebanese Armed Forces, General Joseph Aoun.

The parties discussed cooperation between the two sides. They also reviewed regional and international developments as well as a number of issues of concern to the armed forces of the two countries.
